a walk down memory lane..

baby Gago

Gag and mom

Yesterday was a beautiful day....

The boys were having fun in the pool most of the day... and we lost ourselves in piles and boxes of old photos. As we flipped through forgotten boxes of pictures and turned the pages of albums that had not been opened for some time.....
We lost time and reality... and went on a day trip down memory lane, reliving memorable moments... remembering in detail the trips we had taken... the friends we've left behind in life.

What started from one small album, Gag wanted to look through of our honeymoon...turned into a great day... a journey of our lives through pictures... that will be imprinted in our minds forever.

My friend Hilda quoted Albert Einstein on Facebook.... about pictures I'd like to share here...

A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind~Albert Einstein

P.S. So much for our art supplies huh... :) there's always today...
I wouldn't change those few hours we spent "lost"... for anything in the world.

I'm off.... lots of pictures to upload onto my Flickr and Facebook...

Have a great day guys.... and maybe.... go get lost in your old pictures for a day

love and peace!

  1. How wonderful.. I wish I had more of my family when I was little... I was the fourth child and therefore only have a couple of pics of me! I'm trying (obviously) not to do that with my kids. I like the way old packets of pictures and old albums smell. weird I know!

What a wonderful day. Not a lost day, for sure. Perhaps a found day? A day when you both found peace in the midst of challange. A day when you both found joy in knowing how much you have shared, how much you have built, how little time was wasted between you. A day when you found all the reasons you have come so far and all the reason to carry on in the days ahead.

My oldest daughter and her family are coming to town tomorrow and on the top of her list of things she wants to do...go through old family photos and take them with her to her home in Nevada.

Time passes on. And time stands still. Such is life.

Hope you are having a blessed day with your precious family.

  5. Marin jan, I have been silently following your blog ever since Sirvard sent it to me heartbroken and sad. I'm sorry I haven't found the courage to write before, but tonight is different. I mean, what do you say? I just want you to know that we are always thinking of you, Gagik and the boys. My prayers are always with you. No one should have to endure so much pain, especially a couple, a family like yours. May god give you the strength and wisdom to be there for one another. As much as the boys need you, you need them back. My tears are too overwhelming tonight, but I just wanted you to know that I truly admire you and think of you often. Love, Gayan (Sivo's sister)

  7. Love u too!

Gagik is *so* cute in that baby picture. The pictures are really special. What the first poster said about old picture smells, I can relate, and I think of Sona Morkoor, and all her individual older pictures, that aren't in an album. The black and white are so special, and u're right, time does fade away when really taking them in, and doing nothing but going with the feeling...sooo cliche, but true...a picture's worth a thousand words...so you had a lot of words exchanged yesterday afternoon.

    love,
    Nairy
